The reason I feel I make an excellent personal trainer for the people I work with is I personally know the struggles of being overweight and the issues that come with not exercising. In 1997, my weight was up to right at 300lbs and at 5' 8" that was extremely unhealthy. My BMI (Body Mass Index) was at 45.6% and I was having trouble sleeping, even breathing. After a visit to my doctor and a very poor heart stress test I decided to make a difference in my life, I lost a lot of the excess weight that was making me unhealthy. I have continued to exercise and have dedicated my life to staying healthy and helping others.
I too, like many others, tried all the fad diets, quick fix exercise programs over the course of several years before hitting my peak weight. None of the claims on diet pills, drinks, etc... worked because those products did not teach me that a well balanced diet and regular exercise was the key, not starvation or stimulants.
